It's almost like a unicorn. When you find a fabulous brunch spot that's not overly crowded, with plenty of great food options, and drink specials that can't be beat. Ivy Kitchen is that unicorn. Nestled right outside of Look Cinema in North Dallas, Ivy Kitchen occupies a beautiful corner spot that links directly to Look. Often times, people will come here for a drink or two before viewing their film. And with good reason. Ivy Kitchen has always had a friendly staff and great chefs to keep loyalty high.
You have a couple of options when it comes to seating here. One, is a wide and covered patio. It's great during those not-so-hot days of spring and fall. But in the blazing Texas heat, you might have to head indoors. The bar area has raised bar level tables and seating, and a L-shaped bar for those wanting to be close to the drink action. Finally, you can be seated in their main area, with large bay windows and a wall of glass-encased wine that would make most wine lovers swoon.

During this particular visit, I had the pleasure of trying a fan favorite. The Ivy Crab Cake Benedict. Perfectly poached egg, a top a bed of flavorful and tender crab cakes, sauteed spinach, and a soft slice of brioche toast. Then they up the sexiness and drizzle with a rich hollandaise sauce and put it next to a side of home-style potatoes. It's just fantastic. Easy to see why it's a favorite of the restaurant.
Not to be outdone with great food only, Ivy Kitchen also offers a great carafe special. $11 will get you a carafe filled with a great Classic Mimosa ratio (I would say about 70/30, champagne/OJ) or the flavorful Vine Peach Mimosa -- it's a great blushing hint of peach, without being overpowering. Definitely give it a try!
